Terms of Service
Last updated 30 September 2026.
These terms apply to the OwnershipTrace website at https://ownershiptrace.com, to accounts, and to the Premium subscription. By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
OwnershipTrace is operated by Better Future Company, Doktor Willesvej 3, 2650 Hvidovre, Denmark (registration number 30877381). Contact: info@ownershiptrace.com, or the feedback button in the bottom-right corner of the site.
1. What the service is
OwnershipTrace collects public disclosures such as SEC Form 13F, Schedule 13D and 13G, Form 4, Form N-PORT, US House financial disclosures, and FINRA short interest reports, and presents them with summaries, comparisons, and links to the original sources. Some areas are free; others require a Premium subscription, as described on the Premium page.
The service is information only. It is not investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security, and it is not tailored to your situation. Read the Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or subscribe.
- Give a valid email address and keep it current. We use it to verify the account, send security notices, and, for subscribers, billing notices.
- Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- One person per account. Do not share credentials or resell access.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion is permanent and cancels any active subscription immediately.
3. Premium subscription
Premium costs USD 20 per month plus applicable taxes. It is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Prices may be shown in your local currency at checkout.
Purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (Paddle), our merchant of record. Paddle is the seller of the subscription for payment purposes: it collects payment, calculates and remits applicable taxes, issues receipts and invoices, and handles refunds and chargebacks. The Paddle buyer terms apply to the purchase alongside these terms. We never see or store your card details.
You can cancel at any time from the Account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Premium access until then and are not charged again. Refunds are described in the Refund Policy.
If a renewal payment fails, Paddle will retry and email you. Premium access continues during the retry period. If payment is not received, the subscription is cancelled and Premium access ends.
We may change the price. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, and it will apply from your next renewal after that date. If you do not agree, cancel before the renewal.
4. Refunds
The first Premium payment can be refunded in full within 14 days of the charge. Renewal payments are not refunded except where the law requires it. The full rules, including how to ask, are in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site or its data, or access it through automated means other than the public pages we publish for that purpose.
- Redistribute, resell, or publish substantial parts of the data or summaries, or use them to build a competing service.
- Circumvent access controls, share Premium access, or interfere with the operation or security of the site.
- Use the site for anything unlawful.
You may use the site and its content for personal, non-commercial research and may quote short excerpts with attribution. The underlying filings remain public records of their respective sources.
6. Data, accuracy, and availability
Public disclosures are delayed, may be incomplete or amended, and may contain errors from the source or from our processing. Market data may be delayed. We provide the service without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness and may change, add, or remove data areas and features. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
7. Intellectual property
The site, its design, software, curated lists, summaries, and derived figures belong to the operator or its licensors. Source filings are public documents owned by their filers and the agencies that publish them.
8. Termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice where practical. If we close a Premium account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of the current billing period.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for investment losses or for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Denmark. Disputes are heard by the courts of Denmark, unless consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. Consumers in the European Union may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
